DATA TO CHEW ON

Open wide - that's the best way to determine the age of a deer and the Division of Fish and Wildlife's White-tailed Deer Research Project with the help of the NJ State Federation of Sportsmen's Clubs and other interested parties have helped collect 226 deer teeth for aging during the 2010-2011 seasons. A quick look at the tables shows deer from a half year old to 13 and a half. You can find the study results at www.njfishandwildlife.com
